OFFICERS

 

President:

Call and preside at meetings

Appoint committees

Ultimately responsible for growth and direction of the organization

Manage club logistics task list (maintaining club PO box/phones, resources, etc.)

Oversee all organizational plans:

  • Membership plan

  • Finance/fundraising plan

  • Communications plan

  • Legislative/political plan

  • Community service plan

  • Any events planning as necessary

Responsible for managing and/or creating these in their respective officers' absence.


Vice-President:

Preside at meetings in lieu of the President

Default chair of membership committee (see below)

Capable of performing all duties assigned to the President; perform said duties as assigned by and decided in concert with President


Secretary:

Take minutes at meetings; report within a timely fashion (typically within one) week from meeting date

Default chair of communications and event committtes (see below)


Treasurer:

Keep track of organization bank account and financial records

Disburse money for purposes determined by organization

Report on finances at each meeting

Default chair of finance committee (see below)


Parliamentarian:

Act as reference for parliamentary procedure in meetings

 



COMMITTEES (and default chair, unless otherwise appointed)


Political (default chair: President)

  • Identify candidates/issues the club will support

  • Coordinate volunteer activities for identified targets


Finance (default chair: Treasurer)

  • Approve all expenditures by organization, as dictated by club constitution

  • Create and implement finance plan (including tentative budget and fundraising targets)


Membership (default chair: Vice President)

  • Maintain and increase membership across a breadth of age ranges, locations, and other demographics

  • Create/implement membership plan, with club growth targets for above demographics


Communications (default chair: Secretary)

  • Oversee club communications across all media, both mainstream and online

  • Create communications plan, dictating message for club communications over time and with initiatives to expand the club's communications reach


Events (default chair: Secretary)

  • Arrange social events for organization

  • Aid Finance chair in organization of fundraising events, and other committees with event management as appropriate
